Management

Ask Halo BI employees, partners and customers what make us really special and they’ll all tell you it’s the people. We’re passionate, dedicated and don’t mind having some fun while we shake the game up.

Ray Major

President and Chief Executive Officer
Ray is a seasoned executive with nearly three decades of experience managing tech firms from start-up to maturity. An economist and researcher by background, Ray is uniquely qualified to head Halo BI because he understands business analytics from both the user’s and the developer’s perspective. Prior to taking the reins here at Halo BI, Ray was a senior vice president at The Nielsen Company where he oversaw the integration of Claritas, a data collection and analytics firm, into the global Nielsen brand. Before that Ray headed up B-to-B software development efforts for Equifax National Decision Systems, a division of credit giant Equifax. And way back when, Ray was a Research Analyst and statistician for the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), the regional planning agency for the County of San Diego. A lifelong San Diego resident, Ray holds bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from San Diego State University.

Steve Mills

Chief Technology Officer
With a background in electrical and mechanical engineering, Steve’s career in software development and engineering spans more than 20 years. Prior to becoming Halo BI’s top technical mind, Steve directed field engineering for Agile Software where he helped the company achieve one of the fastest growth curves in history (and successfully worked himself out of a job when it was acquired by Oracle in 2007). Prior to Agile Steve led development and technical sales for several software start-ups, Lineage Sytems, CAST and Bocada, counting major enterprises such as Intel, Otis, Qualcomm and JP Morgan Chase among his customer successes. Steve holds an MBA from Maryland’s Loyola College. When Steve’s not jockeying code you’ll find him restoring and club racing cars near his home in outside Baltimore.

Jordan Martz

Chief Product Evangelist
Jordan is Halo BI’s official “Big” thinker. Big Ideas, Big Picture, Big Data — you name it — with Jordan, whatever it is, it’s Big. As our chief evangelist, he’s responsible for spreading the word about Halo BI and helping people understand why it’s truly a revolution in business intelligence. Before joining Halo BI, Jordan was a senior consultant for enterprise data management firm Kalido where he developed advanced information architectures for multi-national corporations, global financial houses, and the U.S. Military among many others. He is also the founder of DataMartz, a research and development firm specializing in high-end data mining, predictive modeling and analytics. General Manager, Asia Pacific
As a member of the Halo BI team since 2007 (a lifetime for many a small software firm), Asj has been with the company since it first re-located its headquarters from New Zealand to the United States, transforming from a regional software consultancy to global software developer in the process. Before joining Halo BI he worked at Microsoft managing the companies many partnerships with independent systems vendors (ISVs) throughout the New Zealand-Australia region. Now APAC General Manager, Asj oversees our software engineering, sales and support operations throughout the far-flung Western Pacific and Indian Ocean territories from Halo BI Asia-Pacifc headquarters in Auckland, New Zealand.
